Bienvenue à Montserrat

Promenez-vous au sein d’un paradis où deux mondes cohabitent… une majestueuse combinaison de terre noire et de vapeurs… entourée d’une végétation verdoyante et luxuriante… c'est ce qui fait toute la beauté de Montserrat. Pas de plage surpeuplée, de casino, des chaîne de restauration rapide ou de centre commercial pour dénaturer la beauté de " l’Emeraude des Caraïbes".

Détendez-vous et appréciez la convivialité de nos habitants et celle du soleil des Caraïbes qui caresse notre petite île. L'héritage culturel de cette île remonte à l'ère de ses premiers colonisateurs, les irlandais. Cet héritage est présent au travers des noms des villes, des villages, des noms de familles, et même par le timbre distinctif du passeport montserratien, l’emblématique Trèfle irlandais. Notre plat traditionnel local, le "Goat Water", est irlandais. Cette soupe épaisse préparée avec de gros morceaux de viande de chèvre fait référence à un ragoût irlandais. Nous sommes également, l'unique pays en dehors de l'Irlande à célébrer la St. Patrick comme une fête nationale.

Jetez un regard vers le sud … au-delà des brumes grises, où se tient majestueusement notre célèbre volcan en activité, la Soufrière. Les scientifiques le classent parmi les merveilles du monde les plus intéressantes. Ce don historique peut être observé à partir de plusieurs points sécurisés, tels que la colline de Jack Boy ou l'Observatoire du Volcan de Montserrat (MVO).
